Article 14: "Smudges" of the Brazil 1891 100 Reis

Some Brazil 1899 100 Reiss were printed with worn-out plates. I show several of these "smudged" specimens. Below is a detail from a clean plate printing. Below is a specimen with significant under-inking in the left and bottom rows of white and blue squares surrouding the portrait.
Below is a specimen with significant over-inking to three corner boxes, all except the top right box. The flower design is smudged.
Below is a specimen with significant over-inking throughout the design. Notice the corner boxes are a solid color, in contrast to the flower pattern on the clean printings.
